THANK YOU to everyone that took the time to bake goodies for the Cake Walk this past weekend and that volunteered their time for parking at the Honeybee Festival!

Bountiful Harvest

Ticket sales appear to be going quite well.  Please turn in checks and stubs as you receive them.  This helps with record keeping and check processing.  The final date for all tickets and stubs to be turned into the school office is October 18.  Currently, we have sold 80 tickets and have 420 tickets still out.

Beautiful changes are happening

Take a look at all of the work that has been completed on our grounds lately. We have a newly painted playground fence, the overgrown weeds have been pulled out and cut back, gravel and dirt have been donated and delivered to the playground area.   Many more changes and updates are planned.  Thank you, Garden Club, PFO and parents for all of your help!

Lots of bonuses available if you purchase the following this week:  JoAnn Fabrics,, Pet Smart,

Coldwater Creek – all 2% bonuses.

Protecting God’s Children Class

Don’t forget about the PGC class tonight at 6pm in the church meeting room.  There is also a class scheduled for this Wednesday at 6:30pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Blessing of the Animals

St. Francis of Assisi is known as the patron saint of animals and the environment.  St. Francis cared for the poor and sick, preached sermons to animals, and praised all creatures as brothers and sisters under God.  Each year on or around Oct. 4, Christians throughout the world celebrate the Feast of St. Francis with prayers for creation and a blessing of the animals.  Our celebration will be this Friday at 2pm in the

school playground area.

Feel free to bring your family pet for this blessing.  If your pet is unable to make it, send in a picture of your pet with your child.

This week’s Lifeline is Respectfulness.

Do you have your Kroger Gift Card

that supports St. Mary's School &

St. Mary’s Church?

What is it?

The Kroger Gift Card Program provides an opportunity for you to support St. Mary's School and Church at no cost to you.

How does it work?

Obtain your Kroger Gift Card from the school or church office.  Load the gift card prior to having your purchase scanned.  Then pay for your items using your gift card.  Kroger will then send us a check for 3% of your gift card reload.  This money is then divided equally between the school and church in 3 areas…St. Mary’s School Parent Faculty Organization, St. Mary’s Church debt, and St. Mary’s School renovations.  Reload your gift card each time you shop ---- it just keeps on giving!

What does it cost?

            It costs you nothing!

How do I reload the Card?

Reload the card at any cashier or at the Customer Service Desk.  Reload the card prior to scanning your purchaseIt takes about 10 minutes for the money to be activated onto the card.  Pay the reload using cash, check or credit card.

Will our School and Church benefit from cards obtained at a Kroger store?

NO!  Cards must be purchased from the school or church to receive the rebate.

What happens if I lose my card?

Protect your card as you would cash.  If lost, the value cannot be transferred to another card.

St. Mary’s School and Church also participates in SCRIP!

SCRIP cards are the same gift certificates that you buy at the store or see at many checkout counters.  Thousands of popular retailers participate in our scrip program including Wal-Mart, Macy’s, Marathon, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster, Texas Roadhouse, Subway, Wendy’s,, and hundreds more.  Scrip participating retailers sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount.  Families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, you redeem them for full face value, and our school and parish keep the difference as revenue.  These profits are divided the same way as the Kroger reload profits are.

The school keeps a supply of popular cards in stock at all times.  We typically have Wal-Mart, Subway, Wendy’s, and Kroger cards.  We encourage your family to re-think how you do your shopping.  Plan ahead and order SCRIP!  The potential is tremendous.

Visit for a complete listing of all participating retailers.  Orders placed by 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, arrive by Thursday afternoon. Contact the office if you have questions about placing orders.
