The purpose of a uniform dress code at St. Mary's School is to down-play external differences, reduce peer pressure, and allow students to focus on the Christian values and academic excellence that is the foundation of our school. Uniforms are to be worn all days unless otherwise stated. Boy Scout and Girl Scout uniforms may be worn on days when a scouting event occurs directly after school.
Girls (Grades K-8)
Pants: Navy. May be plain or pleat front or standard 5 pocket style. No cargo pants*, carpenter, bellbottoms, wide legs, flares zip-off legs, etc. No jeans. No capri pants.
Shirts: Plain white polo style shirt or blouse, may be short or long sleeved. White turtlenecks or mock turtlenecks are another option. There are to be no visible logos on shirts except for the St. Mary's logo.
Skirts: Pleat style in navy.
Skorts: Basic style in navy. Walking length*.
Shorts: Navy, plain or pleat front. Walking length*. No cargo shorts*.
Belts: Belts must be worn with any bottoms that have belt loops. Belts may be navy, brown or black basic style. Braided is acceptable. Belts are optional for grades K-2 and required for grades 3-8.
Jumpers: Navy
Sweaters and Sweatshirts: Navy or white with no logos or lettering OR navy or white with St. Mary's logo in either white or navy.
Shoes/Socks/Tights: Students are to wear athletic shoes or leather/oxford style shoes in black, navy or brown. No open toe or open heel shoes are allowed. Heels may not be higher than 2 inches. Shoes must be fully laced or fastenend. Navy or white socks or tights are acceptable. Girls will not be allowed to wear sweatpants, leggings or slacks under their skirts or jumpers. They may wear navy or black shorts or tights under their skirts or jumpers.
Boys (Grades K-8)

Shirts: Plain white or light blue with collars, polo style or buttom down. White turtlenecks or mock turtlenecks are another option. There are to be no visible logos except for the St. Mary's logo.
Sweaters and Sweatshirts: Navy or white with no logos or lettering OR navy or white with St. Mary's logo in either white or navy.
Shorts: Navy, plain or pleat front. Walking length*. No cargo shorts*.

*Definitions:
Walking Length: Hits at the knee or just above the knee. Cannot be longer than the knee.
Cargo Pants or Cargo Shorts: Has side, front or back cargo pockets (pouch-like).
